The present St. Mauritius parish church is no longer the original building which was built before 1071. Around 1300, a larger church was built which then already had a tower. The third late Gothic church was built between 1488 and 1513 under Master Builder Heinrich. The present-day church was constructed mainly between 1823 and 1826. New baroque and classical elements and flower garlands adorn the ceiling and choir wall. There are 14 stained glass windows showing the stations of the cross above which are the medaillons in which the auxiliary saints are portrayed. Today's church patron, St. Mauritius, has already been mentioned around 1250. His relics were found in a silver cross. |
